DAYS OF AWE

Written over the course of a week, between the Jewish High Holidays and the anniversary of my mother’s death, this project uses the form of the visual essay to explore the connections between collage and time. A series of collages are interwoven within the essay’s exploration and questioning of time, materiality and memory. Each piece of writing introduces a new question that attempts to find an answer through a visual test. In developing this project I began to explore connections between structures of storytelling, questioning through making, and the tempo of the web-essay.
